Weeding Out Your Closets

George Chowanec • Apr 24, 2013

As winter turns into spring, you're probably going through your clothing, packing the cold weather items away and taking out the wardrobe essentials you need as the days grow warmer. As you do so, it's important to weed out items that you don't use.

Here are four questions to ask yourself as you go through your closet and hold up each item:

* Do I wear this?

* Do I love this?

* Is this the only item of its type that I own?

* Does this have sentimental value?

If the answer to all of these is "no," then it's time to let the item go. You could donate it to a thrift shop, give it to a friend or sell it at a garage sale or consignment shop. Just don't let unwanted and unused items hang around in your closets any longer!
