Using Your Wardrobe as Inspiration
Have you ever looked inside of your closet
in order to glean some inspiration for decorating the rest of your home? Interior designer Erin Gatessuggests doing just that if you are stumped on how to best update your home's appearance and decor. She says that if you like to wear a certain color, texture or fabric on your body, you might also like to see it adorning your home.
If you are due for a closet clean-out anyway, this might be great advice for you! Take out the clothing that you don't like or don't wear, and look to see what the rest of your clothes have in common. Then try to integrate those features into decorating your home. You'll end up with a decoration style that suits you, as well as a cleaner and more organized closet.
