Spring Cleaning Your Kids’ Closets

George Chowanec • Apr 16, 2013

As custom closet organizers, we know the truth about kids’ closets: They’re often one of the messiest areas of the home! The reason for this is because kids tend to lack the know-how necessary to keep a difficult area clean and tidy. Since it’s spring and you’re likely doing some spring cleaning, now is a great time to work with your kids in getting their closets up to par.

Begin by taking everything out, and then designate a place for each item. Try to think about the closet logically. Your child is shorter and smaller than you, so you’ll need to place often-used items within easy reach. Anything that you’d prefer your child not have unencumbered access to should go on the top shelf. A variety of drawers and closet accessories can help keep things contained.
