Organizing Your Custom Closet After Installation

George Chowanec • Feb 15, 2013

Once you have your custom closetsinstalled, you’ll notice one striking benefit: Your clothing will stay in better shape due to your ability to store things with plenty of space around them. Storing clothes improperly can lead not only to wrinkling, but also tears, snags and other damage. Here are a few tips to keep in mind to help your clothing and accessories last as long as they should:

• Don’t hang sweaters, as this can stretch them out. Fold them instead, using your shelving and drawers.

• Keep dress socks and pantyhose in drawers or designated bags. This will help prevent snagging and runs.

• Instead of hanging purses by their straps, place crumpled white paper inside to help them keep their shapes, and set them on a shelf.

• Use the jewelry and tie racks that came with your custom closet to store these items.

Your custom closet designer can give you more hints and tips to help you make your wardrobe last, so don’t be afraid to ask! If you are ready for a consultation or if you have any other questions, please contact us .
