Helping Your Graduate Get Organized

George Chowanec • Jul 08, 2013

Has someone in your family recently graduated from high school? If so, congratulations to them from All About Closets! With high school graduation comes a host of new responsibilities. If your new grad will be heading off to a dormitory in a couple of months, they might be concerned about how they will manage to fit everything they want to bring in a small dorm room closet.

You should, of course, help them to be selective as they pack. If your child is staying fairly close, they can come home on weekends to switch out their clothing. Even if your child will be heading across the country, they will likely be back during the winter holidays.

Here are some more tips on staying organized in a small dorm room. Go over these with your recent graduate, and help them to make a plan for keeping their clutter under control. These are great skills to learn now, before your child is ready to buy or rent a home of her own!
